The Meamina
“I am a Head Chef on board a 60m luxury motor yacht the Meamina and have a 6 grid Rational cook station.
Whilst cruising from the Seychelles to Italy the oven decided enough was enough and stopped working.
I had contacted Rational International but they were unable to help as I couldn’t access the service area of the oven. This was ok as we were heading for the ship yard where we could be sure of assistance!
So whilst on my return to the UK, I was informed by the yacht that the Italian engineers (Rational) wouldn’t attempt to service/fix the oven unless we pulled it out of the galley and on to the hard stuff! Which is something that wasn’t going to happen as it weighs a ton!
As Helen, from AC Services Southern a UK Rational Service Partner, is a neighbour I spoke with her. I explained the situation and asked whether she had an engineer that could assist as we were in Italy and I needed it fixing asap.
She was very positive. After she contacted her office I was put in touch with Kevin one of the engineers. He asked all the right questions to ascertain the fault and what he might need to fix the problem.
It was all very simple from there. We made arrangements for accommodation for the engineer here on the yacht and paid our deposit. Kevin arrived with his spares and fixed the problem by the morning! Whereby he could enjoy the spoils of the sun in Barcelona!
I highly recommend the services of AC Services Southern and will undoubtedly use them again.”
