The Abercrave Inn – Best Kept Secret in the Brecon Beacons

The Abercrave InnThe Abercrave Inn is one of the many Great British pubs that make England one of the most sought after holiday destinations in the world. With its stunning countryside, picture postcard villages, bustling market towns and cities brimming with life, vigour, history and heritage, Great Britain has it all. People come here from all over the globe to experience our country at its very best. But the British people too are eager to see the delights that sit on their doorsteps – delights such as the Brecon Beacon National Park, and the Swansea valley.

A Subterranean World as Old as Time itself

Wales has been delighting visitors from both home and abroad for decades. Take Abercrave for example. This unassuming small town is the gateway to the Brecon Beacons. Not only that, but it is also home to Dan-yr-Ogof, the National Show-cave Centre for Wales, which so happens to boast the most spectacular show-cave complex in Northern Europe. It attracts thousands of visitors every year who flock here to explore the subterranean world that is as old as time itself. But that’s not all. There’s a culinary delight in store for visitors too.

The Abercrave Inn has a Great Reputation to Uphold

The Abercrave Inn has been welcoming guests to this part of the country for hundreds of years. This historic 16th century Inn offers first class accommodation, great bars that serve traditional real ales, and a restaurant that is one of the best kept secrets of the surrounding area. Head chef Hugh Bishop is in charge of the kitchen, where he runs a tight ship. “The Abercrave Inn has a great reputation to uphold” he told us. “It’s up to me and my staff to provide residents and diners with a great dining experience”. And that, they do! From a robust country style English breakfast, to a full sumptuous a la carte evening dinner service, with a traditional pub-fare lunch in between; there’s something for everyone. From the hungry traveler, to the most discerning diner, all palettes are catered for.

Why I Rate AC Services (Southern)

“It’s behind the scenes where it matters most”, said Hugh. “The hungry diner expects our dishes to turn up in good time, with great presentation, and using the best, fresh, local produce. – and of course they do”, Hugh explained. “The Abercrave Inn just can’t afford any disasters in its kitchen. Can you imagine the “to do” if our ovens went down during service? It would be a total catastrophe. But it’s why I rate AC Services (Southern)”, said Hugh.

ACS are the Ultimate Professionals

“We use a Rational SelfCookingCenter. They’re one of the best professional ovens on the market today”, Hugh went on. “But like anything new, one day it comes out of warranty. That’s the day I appointed ACS to look after the regular maintenance and servicing. We took out one of their Gold Plan Maintenance contracts and we’ve never looked back since. They are the ultimate professionals. They always turn up when they say they will. I’ve been using them for 5 years now here at the Abercrave Inn and they’ve earned my complete trust”.

ACS are getting it right

“It’s always nice to hear we are getting it right for our customers”, said Helen Hagger, director of AC Services (Southern). “It’s not only rewarding, but good for business too, to take a look at some of the great testimonials we’ve received from so many of our valued customers, like the Abercrave Inn. We do right by them, and they do right by us”. Helen & her team at AC Services have certainly built a reputation they can be proud of!
